What is stored
The recipes you save: name, ingredients and amounts, steps, servings, the meat, dairy or parve mark, the divider, and the link and creator name when a recipe came from a site or a social network. Nutrition values are calculated from the ingredients. No accounts, no passwords, no email addresses and no contacts.
How a device is identified
On first launch a random identifier is created and kept on the device. It is not linked to a name, phone number or email, and only lets the server know which recipes belong to this box. The identifier is also the recovery code, which restores the box on a new phone.
Reading recipes
When you ask the app to read a recipe from a link, a photo or text, the content is sent to the app server (Cloudflare) and on to an AI service (OpenAI for text and links, Anthropic for photos) to split it into ingredients and amounts. The photo itself is not stored on the server. From a link, only the page or post you shared is read, nothing else.
Usage data
The app records basic usage events, such as a recipe saved or cook mode opened, as labels only and without content, together with the app version, phone language, time zone and country at country level only. The data is linked to the random identifier and is not shared with third parties.
Ads
The free version shows a banner through Google AdMob. That service may use the device advertising identifier, which you can reset or limit in your operating system settings. Premium has no ads.
Premium
Purchases go through Google Play. We never receive payment details, only Google’s confirmation that the subscription is active.
Notifications
The only notification is a ring when a cook-mode timer ends. It is local to the device, off by default, and only turns on if you choose it.
Deletion
Settings has "delete all data", which immediately deletes every recipe and divider from the server. You can also write to us and it will be handled within 30 days.
