Adds Up is a buy-in and settle-up tracker for a regular game night. It answers three questions: who bought in, how many times, and who owes whom when the night ends. Instead of one sheet of paper that only the person holding it can read, everyone around the table sees the same live screen, and the settle-up at the end is calculated for you.
Who it is for
Any group that meets regularly and shares a pot: a weekly poker four, a rummy night, a board-game evening. If you have been looking for a way to track buy-ins, split a shared pot, or work out who pays whom at the end of the night, this is it.
How it works
- Open a group: name it, pick a currency, and invite the rest with a QR code or a six-letter code.
- Start a night: set what one buy-in is worth, then tap a name to open their options and add a buy-in from the button there, so a stray touch never counts for anyone. A new game opens with the settings of the last one, all on one screen, so a regular night starts in two taps.
- Everyone sees it: the screen updates on every phone within seconds, and each person sees their own standing first.
- Close the night: enter what each player has left, and the app works out the smallest set of payments that settles everything.
Why not a sheet of paper
A sheet of paper only knows what the person holding it wrote down. Here the count is visible to everybody in real time, there is a log showing every buy-in with its timestamp, and any change is seen by the whole room the moment it happens.
Settling up properly
Amounts are exact to the last cent, and a group that prefers can choose whole amounts before the game: every balance is rounded to a whole number, the difference is shared among the players, and the totals still balance with nobody left short. The result is a short list of payments: not everyone paying everyone, only what is actually needed to close. Under each player, in large type, who they hand over to and how much, or who they collect from, and each transfer can be ticked as done by the payer, the recipient or the host, so everybody sees what is still open.
Between the nights
Every player has a screen of their own: how many nights, with whom, on which weekday, and a line of their balance over time in each group with the current run of wins or losses. Every night's length is recorded on its own, and there is a title for whoever sits the longest. From the running table you send the group one picture that sums up the season: the games, the hours at the table, the leaders and the titles, for a month, a year or all time. The whole history exports to a file a spreadsheet opens, and anyone who has not played yet can look at a sample night.
